1. Who We Are

Page Keep-Alive is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox developed and maintained by zenteno.xyz. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@zenteno.xyz.

2. What Data We Collect & Store

Free version

The free version of Page Keep-Alive on both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox collects no personal data and records no remote telemetry. Your settings (such as active state or keyboard shortcut preferences) are stored strictly locally on your device using the browser's built-in extension storage APIs (chrome.storage / browser.storage). This data never leaves your browser.

Pro version — License verification & Installation Telemetry

When you purchase, activate, or re-verify Page Keep-Alive Pro, the following data is processed by our license validation server (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) strictly for the operational purpose of license entitlement and validation:

• Email address: The email address provided during checkout.
• License key: The unique key issued upon purchase.
• Installation telemetry (valid licenses only): To verify active installations and validate license integrity, our server records minimal installation telemetry associated strictly with successfully verified licenses:
  • Installation identifier: An anonymous, randomly generated identifier (UUID) generated locally on your machine upon first run and stored in chrome.storage.local. This identifier is not a hardware fingerprint, is not tied to your personal identity or device serial numbers, and is not used to enforce an installation limit.
  • Browser platform: The browser type in use (such as chrome or firefox).
  • Extension version: The release version of the installed extension.
  • Timestamps: First-seen and last-seen timestamps of license validation requests.

Strict licensing scope: Installation telemetry is recorded only after successful license validation. Invalid license attempts or non-Pro users never generate installation records. This data is verified over HTTPS against our secure license validation server and cached locally in chrome.storage.local so ordinary extension usage does not require network requests on every tab. When synced across devices, license credentials use your signed-in browser's native sync infrastructure (chrome.storage.sync). This data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

Pro version — Work Loss Recovery

When Page Keep-Alive is actively enabled by an eligible Pro user on a specific browser tab, the extension operates a local Work Loss Recovery feature designed to prevent loss of work during unexpected session expiration, timeouts, or accidental reloads:

• Local draft storage: The extension temporarily preserves eligible, non-sensitive draft text from standard <textarea> and standard text <input> fields locally on your machine via chrome.storage.local.
• Strict sensitivity exclusions: The extension explicitly filters out and NEVER captures passwords, payment or credit card details, banking information, one-time authentication codes (OTP), security tokens, government/social security identifiers, health/medical information, hidden fields, disabled/read-only inputs, or ambiguous short fields (≤ 4 characters).
• No outbound transmission: Draft text is strictly local to your browser. Draft values are never transmitted to our servers, Cloudflare, Stripe, analytics providers, or any third party.
• 24-hour expiration & cleanup: Stored drafts automatically expire and are purged after 24 hours. When you confirm restoration of a draft via the in-page banner, the stored draft is deleted immediately upon restore.
• User controls: You can dismiss the in-page recovery banner at any time. When Keep-Alive is disabled on a tab or for non-Pro users, no draft capture or retention takes place.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• Your browsing history, search queries, or a list of websites you visit
• Passwords, payment credentials, authentication tokens, or sensitive form fields
• Content of web pages, DOM trees, or drafts on tabs where Keep-Alive is inactive
• Form drafts or recovery data for free tier users
• Hardware fingerprints, MAC addresses, or device serial numbers
• Usage analytics, advertising tracking, or behavioral profiling
• Crash reports or background error logs containing personal user data

4. How We Use Data

Data processed by the extension is restricted strictly to its operational purpose:

• Email and license key are used exclusively to verify your Pro entitlement.
• Installation telemetry is used exclusively to record license installation activity and verify valid installations.
• Locally cached form drafts are used exclusively to allow you to restore unsaved work upon your explicit confirmation.
• We do not send marketing emails, profile users, sell data, or share any data with third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

Stripe (payment processing)

If you purchase Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store or see your payment card details. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment transaction.

Cloudflare Workers (license validation)

Our license validation API runs on Cloudflare Workers. Your email, license key, and anonymous installation telemetry are transmitted over HTTPS when verifying your license. Cloudflare's infrastructure processes this request, and validation records are stored in Cloudflare KV. We do not store web access logs of individual validation requests or IP tracking profiles.

Browser Web Stores (distribution & updates)

Page Keep-Alive is distributed through the official Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons (AMO). Extension installations, store reviews, and automatic updates are managed directly by Google and Mozilla in accordance with their respective privacy and store policies.

6. Data Storage & Security

All settings, licenses, and local recovery drafts are managed directly through browser-native extension storage APIs (Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox):

• Settings & License: Stored in chrome.storage.sync and encrypted in transit by Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when synced across your signed-in browser instances.
• Installation ID & Work Loss Recovery Drafts: Stored strictly on your local machine in chrome.storage.local, segregated per origin and pathname, and automatically purged after 24 hours. Drafts and installation IDs are never synced across devices or transmitted across the network.
• Uninstallation: Uninstalling the extension automatically purges all extension storage, settings, anonymous installation tokens, and local drafts from your browser.

7. Your Rights & Data Controls

You have direct, immediate control over all data stored by Page Keep-Alive:

• Dismiss or restore drafts: The recovery banner lets you restore or dismiss preserved drafts at will. Restoring a draft deletes it from storage immediately.
• Disable recovery: Toggling Keep-Alive off on a tab instantly halts draft capture and observation.
• Clear all data: Clear extension storage at any time via Chrome or Firefox Settings, or uninstall the extension to permanently delete all local drafts and configuration.
• License deletion: To request deletion of your license validation record from our server, email support@zenteno.xyz.

8. Children's Privacy

Page Keep-Alive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
