Page Keep-Alive prevents your browser tabs from going idle — so Zoom stays connected, web apps don't log you out, and your work is never interrupted. Built for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Chrome and Firefox throttle background tabs — great for battery, terrible for your workflow.
You switch windows for a second and the call drops. Rejoining mid-sentence is embarrassing.
Banking portals, admin dashboards, CRMs — everything has a session timeout that costs you time.
Background tabs get deprioritized. Video content stutters or stops entirely when you tab away.
Trading dashboards, monitoring tools, and WebSocket apps drop connections when idle.
Get Page Keep-Alive from your browser's official store. Consistent tab protection with platform-optimized performance.
Engineered for Chrome's native process lifecycle. Prevents tab sleep, memory discard, and idle throttling using Chrome MV3 extension APIs and native ephemeral session storage.
Tailored specifically for Firefox. Strictly compliant with Mozilla Add-on security guidelines, featuring background event scripts, native timer dispatch, and zero string evaluation.
Both Chrome and Firefox editions share identical core features: per-tab toggle, High Performance Mode (timer capping, visibility locking, focus heartbeat, site auto-click), keyboard shortcuts (⌘ Shift K / Ctrl Shift K), Screen Wake Lock, session statistics, and Pro Work Loss Recovery. Under the hood, Firefox uses background event scripts and native timer dispatch to honor Mozilla's strict security policies prohibiting code generation from strings (Function/eval), and includes tab permissions for cross-window coordination; Chrome uses background service workers and native session storage. Extension updates for each platform are distributed securely and automatically through each respective browser's official store.
No configuration. No account. Just install and click.
Add Page Keep-Alive for Chrome or Firefox from the official store. One click, completely free.
Click the icon and hit "Enable Keep-Alive." Or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ Shift K.
You'll see a clock indicator in the corner — that tab is now protected. No more idle timeouts.
Works on any site. The clock in the corner tells you your tab is protected.

⏸ Inactive state
Under the hood, Page Keep-Alive combines multi-world script execution, visibility locking, and focus heartbeats to keep your tabs truly alive.
Enable or disable keep-alive independently on each browser tab. Precise, intentional, and never affects background tabs you didn't activate.
Keep background tabs working when websites try to slow them down.
Browsers throttle timers and limit background activity in inactive tabs to conserve resources. High Performance Mode counteracts these restrictions by maintaining consistent timer execution and simulating the visibility and focus signals that web applications rely on. Helps supported apps remain responsive in the background. (Cannot prevent a server from independently expiring a session).
Instantly toggle keep-alive on your active tab with ⌘ Shift K (Mac) or Ctrl Shift K (Windows/Linux) without clicking the popup.
Leverages the browser's Screen Wake Lock API to prevent displays from dimming or locking during presentations, dashboards, or webinars.
Track cumulative active keep-alive duration and total protected sessions today directly inside the extension popup.
A subtle, semi-transparent clock indicator renders in the viewport to give you instant visual confirmation that your tab is actively protected.
Configure High Performance Mode per website (Always ON, Always OFF, or Global Default) directly from the popup to match sensitive application requirements.
Add a configurable delay (5s, 10s, 15s, or 30s) before Keep-Alive kicks in on specific websites, complete with a visual waiting badge in the toolbar.
Define URL patterns (e.g. https://*.google.com/*) where Keep-Alive automatically activates upon navigation without manual intervention.
Specify sensitive websites (e.g., banking portals, payment gateways) where Keep-Alive is permanently blocked from activating for peace of mind.
Configure custom CSS/XPath selectors and periodic click intervals in JSON to keep complex single-page apps alive without human intervention.
Fine-tune maximum timer delays (down to 100ms), adjust focus heartbeat intervals, and position the on-screen clock in any of the 4 screen corners.
Page Keep-Alive operates within the client-side browser execution context: it intercepts timer throttling, locks DOM visibility APIs, dispatches focus heartbeats, and requests Screen Wake Locks. However, it cannot override server-side session expiration where a remote server terminates authentication independently of client-side activity. We believe in transparent technical accuracy rather than impossible promises.
Keep-Alive helps prevent interruptions. Work Loss Recovery helps you recover eligible text entered into supported form fields when an interruption causes work to be lost.
You're forty minutes into writing a detailed incident post-mortem, grant application, or customer response. You get pulled away for coffee, and when you return, your session has expired, a modal locked the screen, or the tab reloaded.
Page Keep-Alive Pro monitors supported form fields while Keep-Alive is enabled, automatically preserving non-sensitive text drafts locally. When an unexpected timeout or reload occurs, an in-page recovery banner appears, allowing you to restore your draft with a single click.
Captures eligible text entered into standard multiline <textarea> elements and text inputs (type="text", search, url, tel). Captures are debounced during normal typing to prevent performance degradation.
Security is paramount: password fields, payment card data (number, CVV, exp), SSNs, PINs, OTP/auth tokens, banking details, health information, and sensitive autocomplete attributes are strictly excluded before capture and re-checked before restore.
Drafts are stored solely on your machine in chrome.storage.local, segregated per origin and pathname. Drafts are never synced across machines, never sent to remote servers, and never accessible by third parties.
Drafts automatically expire after 24 hours. Restoring a draft deletes it immediately from storage. Dismissing the banner preserves the draft until expiration. Disabling Keep-Alive stops capture, and uninstalling the extension wipes all drafts instantly.
Whether you manage cloud infrastructure, write customer proposals, or take back-to-back virtual calls, Page Keep-Alive keeps you productive.
Platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, SAP, and NetSuite log users out aggressively after brief inactivity. Keep your customer records, lead notes, and active pipelines open without signing in repeatedly.
AWS Management Console, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes dashboards enforce strict inactivity windows. Maintain active management sessions during multi-hour deployment tasks.
Grafana dashboards, Datadog metrics, network monitors, and financial charts freeze or disconnect when background tabs get throttled. Keep telemetry streaming in real time across all open monitors.
Incident reports, grant applications, academic submissions, and internal request forms frequently lack auto-save. Keep the tab alive and protect your drafted paragraphs with Pro Work Loss Recovery.
Zoom Web Client, Google Meet, and training portals can disconnect audio or freeze video streams when their tab loses focus. Screen Wake Lock and visibility locking keep your meetings stable.
Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow, and GitHub issue editors. Draft thorough technical explanations and bug analyses without worrying that tab sleep will discard your unsaved work.
Essential keep-alive protection is free forever. Pro unlocks automated site workflows, advanced scheduling, and local draft recovery.

Yes. Page Keep-Alive is preparing to transition to a monthly subscription model for new customers at a planned starting rate of $2.99/month. Subscriptions are not currently available for purchase; the $4.99 one-time lifetime license remains the existing offer until the transition is implemented. New subscription pricing and availability will be announced before the transition.
Existing lifetime licenses will remain valid under their original terms. Lifetime entitlement is preserved under original license terms. You will not be required to subscribe, you will not be forcibly migrated to a subscription, and your lifetime functionality will never be downgraded or invalidated because of the new business model.
Previously acquired functionality remains available. Customers retain the right to continue using eligible releases and functionality acquired while their subscription was active. Subscription expiration will not disable previously acquired tools. Ordinary feature releases published after expiration are not automatically included.
Customers will be able to cancel at any time. Cancellation immediately disables automatic renewal, and subscription benefits continue until the end of the paid billing period. No further payments will be collected, and cancellation will not revoke access to previously acquired functionality.
Critical security updates remain available to affected users separately from ordinary new feature releases. Necessary critical security fixes will continue to be provided to all affected users regardless of whether their subscription is active. This includes active subscribers, users with expired subscriptions, and lifetime license holders under their preserved entitlement.
Your data is stored locally in your browser and belongs solely to you. Subscription expiration will never be used to delete customer data, purge local Work Loss Recovery drafts, or lock customers out of their existing work.
